A Member of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Japhet Festus has called out President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo  for refusing to allow the late Jerry John Rawlings to be burried in his hometown .

Since former President Jerry John Rawlings passed on, some family members and groups from his hometown have been advocating for him to be buried in the Volta Region where his mother hails from.

However, such calls for the Late Jerry John Rawlings to be buried in his hometown did not yield any fruit as he is scheduled to be buried at a Military cemetery in Accra since he is a retired Military Officer and a former President.

According to Mr. Japhet Festus, President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo buried his father at his hometown but had refused for same to be done for former President Jerry John Rawlings.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Japhet Festus Gbede said “NANA ADDO, WHY DO YOU CHOOSE TO BURY YOUR FATHER IN HIS HOME TOWN BUT DECIDED TO DENY

RAWLINGS’S FAMILIES ACCESS TO THEIR OWN”
