Renowned broadcast journalists, Nana Aba Anamoah has quizzed if the country [Ghana] has any plan for the homeless citizens.

When you move through the major cities of Ghana such as Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Tarkoradi etc at night, you will find some citizens sleeping on the streets.

Most of such persons who sleep in the open at night are prone to all manner of dangers such as diseases, theft, and other forms of assaults.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing, the country needs about 85,000 housing units annually to solve the housing deficit in the country.

Despite the available statistics on the housing deficit in the country, it seems all Governments over the years have ignored the problem.

Contributing to this age long debate of  housing deficit in the country, Nana Aba of GHOne TV asked if the country has any plan for the homeless.

In a tweet, Nana Aba Anamoah quizzed “What is our country’s plan for the homeless?”

“President Nana Akufo-Addo had no option than to reduce the size of his Government” – Joyce Bawah Mogtari

Some followers of Nana Aba Anamoah have responded to her question.

“Just 31+ million population with everything at our disposal, yet it feels like we’re just surviving in this country instead of real life. Absolutely no plans.”

“They have no plan and will never have such thought for them….they use them as political campaign tools. Very sad the homeless are gradually increasing on our streets. They must wise up.”

“I just read that they should go back to their villages. Well, can we find out why they’ve chosen this life over living in their villages?

Perhaps, they earn something small at the end of the day which they would have gotten none wherever they travelled from.”
