“We must all step up and play significant roles in the development of Ghana” – President Nana Addo to Ghanaians
President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent a message to Ghanaians on the 64th Independence Day Celebration of the country—Ghana.
Ghana gained her independence from the British exactly 64years ago.
On every 6th of March, Ghanaians hold March parades in at the National level, at Regional and district levels among others.
However, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, no such parades were held in the country.
Eventhough there wasn’t any parades held in the country, President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent a message to Ghanaians.
In his massage, the President called on all citizens of the country to step up and contribute towards the development of the country—Ghana.
According to him, all Ghanaians must step up to contribute to the development of Ghana so that the current generation can bequeath to the generations unborn a nation of hope and opportunity.
In a Facebook post, Nana Akufo Addo said;
“Sixty-four (64) years ago, we freed our nation, Ghana, from the shackles of colonialism and imperialism. We were the first nation, in colonial Africa, to gain our independence from the colonial power, and, thus, became the torchbearer of the struggle for liberation of the African continent.
We must all step up and play significant roles in the development of Ghana, our motherland. Let us bequeath to our children, their children, and generations unborn a nation of hope and opportunity, not one of despair and retrogression.
Happy 64th Independence Day Celebration to all of us, and may God bless us all and our homeland Ghana, and make her great and strong.”
