“We do not want to see President Akufo-Addo’s picture frame in your office” – Rt Hon. Bagbin Cautioned
The Speaker of the 8th Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsley Bagbin has been cautioned against displaying the picture frame of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his office.
It has become a ‘norm’ in Ghana that Top Government Officials and appointees displays the image of the President of the country in their offices as a way of paying respect to the office of the President.
Before Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin was elected Speaker of Parliament, images from his office indicated that he had the image of the leader of his party, John Dramani Mahama and President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s images displayed in his office.
Following his election as Speaker after he was nominated by the National Democratic Congress, a member of the Party has called on the speaker not to hang or display or hang the picture frame of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his office as other Government Officials do.
According to him, they in the National Democratic Congress only wants to see the flag of Ghana hanged or displayed in his office and nothing less nothing more.
In a Facebook post, the member of the National Democratic Congress said
“Dear Rt. Hon. A.S.K Bagbin,
Respectfully, we do not want to see President Akufo-Addo’s picture frame in your office or on the walls of your office. We want to see flag of Ghana nothing less nothing more.
May God guide you to lead for our country!
What do you make of this request from the National Democratic Congress’ activists for RT. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsley Bagbin not to display President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s image in his office.
