Government of Ghana acquired telecoms company—AirtelTigo for only $1.00 says the minister for Communications and Digitalization Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

Reacting to this revelation made by Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for the South Dayi constituency Hon. Nelson Dapeamekpor said the Minister of Communications used to work for AirtelTigo which the Government of Ghana has acquired.

According to him, the current Minister of Communications Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful who spearheaded Government’s negotiations to acquire AirtelTigo used to work with Westel that became Zain that became Airtel and now AirtelTigo.

The South Dayi lawmaker in a tweet said;

“Is it that some Npp Ministers think that we don’t th!nk at all or it’s sheer display of arrogance and disrespect for our sensibilities? Govt acquired Airtel/Tigo for $1?

Ursula used to work with Westel that became Zain that became Airtel that became Tigo”
