President should Investigate what led to the disenfranchisement of the People of SALL – Mr. Franklin Cudjoe

Mr. Franklin Cudjoe who is the founder and the Chief Executive Officer for IMANI Africa has called on President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo to call for an investigation in the disenfranchisement of the People of SALL. 

According to Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, the decision which the Electoral Commission took which led to the disenfranchisement of the people of Santrokofi Akpafu Lolobi and Likpe is gross human rights abuse and that constitutes grounds for their removal from office.

He said Did the President really say he will be president for all? Really? Including SALL? The gross human rights abuse by his EC of SALL should constitute grounds for their removal.

Mr. Cudjoe further on President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo to Investigative the circumstances that led to the disenfranchisement of the people of SALL by the Electoral Commission.

In a tweet, the founder of IMANI Africa Mr. Franklin Cudjoe wrote; “The President should investigate what led to the grave midnight erasure of the dignity of all SALL citizens by that reckless and disrespectful order to disenfranchise us.”

BACKGROUND

The people of Santrokofi Akpafu Lolobi and Likpe (SALL) Traditional Areas were prevented by the Electoral Commission of Ghana from voting in the 2020 Parliamentary elections because they fall within the newly created Oti Region and were yet to be given a new Constituency.

The people of Santrokofi Akpafu Lolobi and Likpe (SALL) Traditional Areas recently filled a case in court challenging the decision that was taken by the Electoral Commission which disenfranchised them.

According to them, the Electoral Commission should have made plans for them to also excerise their right to representation in Parliament by electing a Member of Parliament to represent them in the Legislature.
