The Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress,  Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo says both John Mahama and Akufo Addo will be sworn in on the same day if the Electoral Commission refuse to allow for Election Results to be audited.

According to Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, the National Democratic Congress has a ‘Plan B’ which they will implement if the Electoral Commission of Ghana refuses to allow for the 2020 Presidential election results to be independently audited.

In a Facebook post, Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo said ;

“Plan B
If the EC refuse to allow independent
auditors, Both Mahama and Akufo Addo will be sworn in on the same day. Mahama will lead the 9 Regions he won and Akufo Addo will also lead the 7 Regions he won.”

BACKGROUND

The Electoral Commission of Ghana on 9th December, 2020 declared the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential candidate as the President elect for this year’s Presidential election.

However, after the declaration by the Electoral Commission of Ghana, the Presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama indicated that the Election results declared by the commission is not accurate and demanded for an independent forensic audit of the results.

Due to the rejection of the election results as declared by the Electoral Commission by Candidate John Dramani Mahama, many supporters of the National Democratic Congress have been staging street walks and demonstrations to express their displeasure at the Commission.
