Owusu Bempah begs Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for forgiveness

The corporate communications director of Ghana Has, Mr. Owusu Bempah has apologized to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama over the defamatory comments he made about him.

Mr. Ibrahim Mahama who is a brother to former President John Dramani Mahama sued Mr. Owusu Bempah for making some defamatory statements about him.

A high court judgement found Mr. Owusu Bempah guilty and ordered the following.

i. An order directed at the 1st Defendant, compelling him to publish in the Daily Graphic and an UTV an unqualified apology to the Plaintiff and a retraction of the said statements with the same
prominence as the defamatory statement;

ii. An order compelling 2nd Defendant to remove from its archives, be it
electronic or of whatever form, the said defamatory statements;

iii. Damages of Three Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis GH¢300,000.00

iv. Cost of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis GH¢10,000.00

Following the judgement, Mr. Owusu Bempah has apologized to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for defaming him.

In the Statement which is circulating on social media sighted by talkingdrum, Mr. Owusu Bempah said that the statement he made about Mr. Ibrahim Mahama was not true.

He said “The statement I made about Mr. Ibrahim Mahama was not true then and is not true now and can never be true and that I had no reason to make that statement.”
