The Executive Director of Media Foundation for West Africa, Mr. Sulemana Braimah says the failures that may occur under Nana Akufo Addo’s second term can be blamed on both NDC and NPP.

Mr. Sulemana Braimah stated that any failure that may happen under this current Government cannot be blamed on President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party alone.

According to Mr. Braimah, even though the National Democratic Congress is in opposition, it has what is required to work in Parliament to prevent activities that can degenerate into failures.

He further concluded that the National Democratic Congress will also be blamed for the failures of Nana Akufo Addo Government if it allows actions which can lead to such failures go their Parliament.

In a post on his Officially verified twitter handle, Mr. Sulemana Braimah said ;

“For the next 4 yrs, governance failures cannot be blamed on Akufo-Addo and NPP alone. The NDC has what is required in Parliament to prevent or block actions that will lead to any such failures. We will blame the NDC too for any such failures.”

BACKGROUND

The opposition National Democratic Congress and the ruling New Patriotic Party currently has an equal number of legislators in Parliament, that is 137 : 137 with one (1) independent Member of Parliament.

However, the independent Member of Parliament is now seating with the ruling New Patriotic Party in Parliament which has enabled the NPP to form Majority group in Parliament.

The current statistics in Parliament means that the National Democratic Congress has almost an equal stake in the Governance of the country as even the Speaker of Parliament is a Member of the NDC.
