Know your holidays for 2021

The Ministry of Interior has released the list of holidays and commemorative days in the year 2021.

In Ghana, holidays and commemorative days have become so many such that citizens  have all lost track of them.

According to the list of holidays Released by the ministry of Interior indicates that Ghanaians will be benefiting from thirteen (13) holidays in 2021 with two commemorative days.

Below is the list of holidays for 2021.
  • New Year’s Day – 1st January 2021
  • Constitution Day – 7th January 2021
  • Independence Day – 6th March 2021
  • Good Friday 2nd April 2021
  • Easter Monday 5th April 2021
  • May Day (Worker’s Day) – 1st May 2021
  • Eid-Ul-Fitr – yet to be determined
  • Eid-Ul-Adha – yet to be determined
  • Founder’s Day – 4th August 2021.
  • Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day – 21st September 2021.
  • Farmer’s Day – 3rd December 2021.
  • Christmas Day – 25th December 2021.
  • Boxing Day – 26th December 2021.

NOTE: However, there are no fixed dates for the Eid-Ul-Fitr  and the Eid-Ul-Adha because they are movable dates. The dates of their observation are provided by the office of the National Chief Imam in the course of the year.

Below is the list of  Commemorative days in 2021 which will not be observed as Public Holidays
  • African Union Day – 25th May 2021
  • Republic Day – 1st July 2021
