How John Boadu Begged the NDC to give NPP Deputy Speaker Positions in Parliament – Hon. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor alleges

The General Secretary for the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr. John Boadu has allegedly begged the National Democratic Congress to give the New Patriotic Party Deputy Speaker Positions in Parliament. 

According to the the information put out by the Member of Parliament for the South Dayi Constituency, Hon. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor indicates how the John Boadu literally begged the NDC to give the NPP Deputy Speakership Positions.

In a tweet, Hon. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor said that he never dreamt that a day will come when the New Patriotic Party’s General Secretary will beg the National Democratic Congress to do his party a favor.

In a tweet, the South Dayi lawmaker said;

“I never dreamt that John Boadu will ever beg the NDC to give them one of the Deputy Speakership positions. He further claimed on Joy News that NDC won’t even get Committee Chairmanship and Ranking positions in parliament.

People, let’s respect one another for there’s tomorrow”

During the inauguration of the 8th Parliamentary on 7th January, 2021, there was a lot of confrontations as a clear majority cannot be determined as the National Democratic Congress has 137 seats and the New Patriotic Party also with 137 with One (1) independent candidate.

In the process of electing the Speaker of Parliament, the Member of Parliament for the Tema West Constituency, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah snatched the ballot Papers from the Clerk of Parliament and took to his heals during the counting of the ballots.

However, the National Democratic Congress’ Speaker nominee, the former Member of Parliament for the Nadowli Kaleo Constituency, Upper West Region, Hon. Kingsford Sumani Alban Bagbin has been elected and sworn in as the Speaker of the of the 8th Parliament.
