Cassiel Ato Forson tells Government to ban Sports betting
Former deputy finance minister Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson has called on the Government of Ghana to ban sports betting.

According to the lawmaker, gambling is destroying the youth of the country  and that the Government of Ghana under the leadership of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo must take steps to ban it.

Speaking on PM express on JoyNews further added that Government must come out with a policy to restrict gambling and
to even ban it.

Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson said ;

“Ghana today, we are complaining that this gambling is destroying Our youth. I’ve read a number of articles on this.

I would have thought the government will come out with a policy to restrict gambling and to even ban it.”

Earlier, the Government in it’s 2021 budget indicated that the country loses million of cedis in revenue due to online sports betting.

According to them, the country loses over GH¢300 million every year to online sports gambling which includes sports betting.
